Bird’s eye view of changes at Park Mammoth GC
In the Fall of 2019 the golf course formerly known as Park Mammoth GC was placed on the auction block. As I stated in a prior post, there was a lot of speculation about what would happen to the old resort.
Therefore, I am sure I was not the only one that was delighted to read in the local paper that the new owners “wanted to keep the course open, make some capital improvements and saw the potential draw of the location being within 10 miles of Mammoth Cave National Park.
Over the course of the past 18 months or so, at lot has taken place at Park Mammoth Golf Course. A new club house, flipping the routing (old back nine is now the front), new greens, bunkers, new tee boxes, and an overall upgrade to what looks like a first class golf experience.
How much of a change has it been, Golf.com has listed Park Mammoth GC as one of the top 14 layouts they can not wait to check out in 2021. FYI – that list also includes Baltusrol, Lower Course, Springfield, N.J , Congressional Country Club, Blue Course, Bethesda, Md, and Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin, Ohio. Not bad, not bad at all.
CAN NOT wait to tee it up !!
