Ball Markers
Perhaps, it was because when I first started playing, a ball marker was attached to every golf glove I brought, then sometime in the early 70s, I started using a special coin to mark my ball. Whatever the case, when I started going thru my old bags, there was only a few ball markers found deep inside one pocket of an old Burton Golf Company bag.

A Treasure Trove of Memories
Although after reviewing this category, it may be hard to believe, but I was never a collector of golf memorabilia. With that being said, over the course of years, things ended up in my bag; pencils drop in after a round; scorecards kept to review the stats of fairways, GIR, U/D (ups & downs) and putts; and in an effort to keep our bags together, bag tags of courses frequently played as part of a traveling group of “gamers”. Practicing at home
We have all heard the adage “practice makes perfect”, and as much as I wanted to, I always found it difficult to get into a regular practice routine. Time and time again other things would cut into my planned sessions. Perhaps, because the sessions were focused on a particular area of the game instead of just hitting balls, there never was enough time to pack the gear, drive to the range, warm up, go through practice drills, and return home again. Return to the Game
When asked “How long have you been playing golf?”, my initial response is over 50 years. However, depending on where the conversation goes, the backstory could cover taking lesson from L. B. Floyd (Raymond’s father); the journey from hitting golf balls toward the hole and playing golf at a plus three; time spent as a golf rep and as GM for a small golf startup company; burnout and 15 years totally away from the game; the rediscovery of the golf as the “grand ole game”.
